FLIGHTS TO SINGAPORE

Singapore's Changi Airport is one of the busiest and best connected airport in the world, handling over 100 airlines which fly to some 300 cities. The award-winning airport itself is jam-packed with activities and amenities, making it a world-class attraction in its own right. Singapore Changi Airport is well connected to all major airports in Asia, Europe, and North America. There are usually non-stop flights to Singapore from major European cities. For those travelling to Singapore from the US, there are options for a non-stop flight or a transit at Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul etc...Please check with your local travel desk for more details.

ARRIVAL IN SINGAPORE

It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to exit the airport after the plane has landed. From the airport, it is recommended that you take a taxi to your hotel. The MRT (subway) connects to the airport terminals, but it may not be convenient if you have heavy luggage. See below for more information on local transportation.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

Taxis are convenient and affordable in Singapore. You can flag one down on most roads, but not in the downtown area. Taxi stands are available outside most major shopping malls, public buildings, MRT stations, etc.. In the downtown area, you have to wait for taxis at the taxi stands. Available taxis usually show a green light on the roof of the taxi. Unavailable/booked taxis show a red light, or are not lit up. You may also get a taxi by calling 6-DIAL CAB (63425222), which automatically dials several taxi companies until one responds.

All taxis are metered. Taxi rates varies, depending on the vehicle types and taxi company. Singapore's taxi drivers are generally honest but do insist that they turn on the meter if they don't and please beware of touting. More information is available here.

Singapore has an extensive public transportation system, consisting of MRT (subway) and buses. During the rush hours, MRT is often the most efficient means of traveling. More information is available here.

Google Maps
provide very good route recommendations on taxi, bus and MRT rides.
